I am pleased to announce the selection of Faviola (Favi) Garcia as my Deputy Director for the Airport Division, Western Pacific Region.
Favi comes to us from the Western-Pacific Region, Regional Administrator’s (RA) Office where she served as the Deputy Regional Administrator. While spending over half of her 38-year Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) career in the RA’s office, Favi has worn many hats. Favi’s provided leadership on cross-organizational matters on numerous high-profile programs. Her expertise includes providing leadership and horizontal integration in community engagement, runway safety and airport construction governance, airspace procedures development processes, and complex obstruction evaluation issues. Favi has also worked with many airport executives in the exploration or formation of aviation noise task forces and adhoc noise roundtables. Up until 2014, Favi managed the Micronesia Technical Assistance Program for the RA’s office and is excited to contribute to their aviation infrastructure progress under her new position under the Office of Airports.
Favi’s passion is mentoring, coaching, and developing others to achieve their potential. On her free time, she enjoys walks at the beach and exploring new restaurants. Lastly, Favi holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from California State University of Dominguez Hills (Go Toros!) and is the proud mother of three adult children; Alexia, Anthony, and Julya, the first two of which are proud Air Traffic Controllers at LGB ATCT and LAX ATCT, respectively.
Favi will begin her new position on September 22. Please join me in welcoming Favi to the Airports family.
